The Turkish people are extremely friendly people and personal experience has found time and time again that nothing is ever too much touble for them.
The Surgeons
Turkey are not as yet members of the EU, however many of the surgeons have undertaken training either in Turky, the USA or UK, some have undergone training through a combination of both. The hospital we work with in Istanbul has an affiliation with Harvard Medical International/Harvard Medical school, USA, training is continuous for surgeons and nurses within the hospital group we work with and the healthcare provided is to an incredibly high standard.
Training to be a consultant in Turkey is far more rigorous than that in the UK, once a cosmetic surgeon has completed graduation from medical school they have to take compulsory exams to then become a cosmetic surgeon, following this ,after the exam if they qualify to gain entrance onto the specialism program they MUST train for a further six and a half years before being given the title of Certified Plastic Surgeon, MD. All Turkish surgeons have to be members of the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery, this is compulsory. The organisation stringently regulates surgeons standards and has regular meeting and training sessions for the surgeons to ensure surgeons are regularly updated with safe practices, procedures and that high standards are maintained & developed. Hospitals must meet The Republic of Turkey Ministry of health regulates the clinics and hospitals throughout Turkey, hospitals MUST meet these standards to be allowed to practice. The Turkey Medical Association is the equivalent to the Uk’s GMC (General Medical Council)
